After 16 years during which he played with great success for numerous European clubs, Luis Suarez decided it was time to return to his homeland.
The Uruguayan footballer will sign for Nacional, the club where he started his career.
"It was impossible for me to say no. I am ready to come back. I hope that the last details will be finished soon so that we can officially finish the job," Suarez said.
The forward comes to Nasional as a free agent after the end of his contract with Atlético. He played for Madrid the previous two seasons, and in the 2020/2021 season. he was one of the most deserving to win the title. That season he scored 21 goals in 32 games. The previous season, he scored 11 goals in 35 league matches.
Suarez made his debut for Nacional in 2005 as an 18-year-old. He won the title in his debut season, and then went to Europe.
He played for Groningen, Ajax, Liverpool, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.
