Buducnost failed to make up for the two-goal deficit from Iceland - tonight, the "blues" defeated Breidablik 2:1 in the second leg of the 2nd round of qualification for the Conference League, created enough chances for a more convincing victory and finally said goodbye to Europe in a dignified way.
"Congratulations to the opponent for advancing. We did our best, we didn't take advantage of some chances, especially at 1:0 chance for Đukanović when he missed an empty goal. Mistakes are an integral part of football. The players did their best to score the third goal, but it wasn't enough," said Mileta Radulović, who led the team after the match, because coach Aleksandar Nedović received a red card in Iceland.
Buducnost took the lead through Janković, and then Đukanović had the opportunity to double the lead. He went out alone in front of Einarsson, dribbled past him and missed the empty goal.
The visitors equalized in the 51st minute through Torvaldson, but Adžić restored hope for a favorable result in the 86th minute.
Buducnost was without Janković from the 60th minute, who asked to be substituted due to an injury.
"Janković asked for a substitution himself. He received a strong blow to the rib, so we had to look for alternative solutions. We didn't have much choice. We had to rotate Đuričković in the middle, Ignjatović on the side, and that was the best thing at that moment," he explained. Radulović.
The Icelanders were better after the scored goal, they could score another goal, they hit the post...
"It's not easy to last 90 minutes in this rhythm. There must be a drop in concentration. We try, we do our best, but sometimes everything can't be as we imagined," Radulović concluded.
