New football winds are blowing in Berane.
The well-known football manager, Croatian Andy Bara, owner of the agency "Niagara Sports company", which, among others, represents Alvaro Morata, Dani Olmo, Jonathan Ikone, Temue Bakajok, Nac Fernandes... will invest money in FC Berane.
The club from the north, a former first division player, which in recent years has been mainly living in the Second League, could finally "come to life" - thanks to great potential, sports, infrastructure, and finally - foreign capital.
At a meeting with Andy Bar, attended by Berane Municipality President Vuko Todorović and Vice President Damjan Ćulafić, a five-year sponsorship contract was agreed upon.
Bara's agency, based on a private-public partnership, a model that is not unknown in our country, will manage the club for the next five years.
"At the meeting, which was also attended by the associates of Mr. Bara, satisfaction was expressed that in Berane, finally, an opportunity was provided for investing foreign capital in sports, with the belief that this will bring European standards in sports to our city. The owner of a management company with with which the Municipality of Berane will conclude the contract on sponsorship and management, presented in detail its sports and business plans, with a special emphasis on the youth football school and a focus on the vision of the football club being a standard first league team," stated on the website Berane.me.
Marko Marković, former football player, who in his younger days reached giants like Milan and Manchester United, now also a football agent, is the "link" between Andy Bara and the municipal authorities of Beran and will represent the interests of the company.
"Niagara Sports company is among the 20 in the world in terms of success and balance sheets. Months of research has shown that Berane is an ideal climate for football investment, as a city and a club with great potential, especially the infrastructure financed by the Football Association of Montenegro, in cooperation with the Municipality The north of Montenegro is full of talent, and I would say that football is not 'expanded' in the right way. We will try to change that," said Marko Marković.
It was stated that President Todorović expressed his desire that the new contract on sponsorship and management bring new business and sports energy to Berane, as well as to feel the benefits of the first public-private partnership in Berane sports as soon as possible.
Vice President Ćulafić also informed the guests of the fact that the sponsorship arrangement was supported by an absolute majority of votes in the local parliament, assessing that the position of the majority of councilors was to give this partnership arrangement a chance and support, with the aim of reflecting the general good of all. people who, through life or work, are connected to football in Berane.
"The talks were exhaustive, but very fair, and in the end very successful. We received the trust to lead FK Berane for the next five years, with the option of an extension for another five years. The emphasis will be placed on the youth school, and the frequent arrival of eminent experts is planned from the region who would transfer knowledge and educate the coaching staff. All this, of course, should have as a result not only the promotion of Berane into a stable first league team. The tendency and vision of the people leading the project is that FK Berane must be a leader in the north of Montenegro," concluded is Marko Marković.
It was also stated that Bara is familiar with the new infrastructure plans, and especially with the circumstance that, in the near future, the construction of the western tribune at the City Stadium will begin, for which the tender for the execution of works is in the final phase.
