Ulcinj welcomed the legends with fireworks: Here's how it was last night in the southernmost city

Ulcinj is not a city with a great football tradition, but at least for three days it will be a regional football center.

An unprecedented event in the former Yugoslavia - a gathering of legends who in the former state were synonymous with "the most important secondary matter" - began last night in the southernmost city.

And how - Ulcinj welcomed Ivan Gudelj, the famous football player from Hajduk Split, with a torchlight at the Pier, and with him other legends of Croatian football in general - Ivica Šurjak, Ivo Jerolimov, Nikica Cukrov, Vjeran Simunić, Dragan Skočić, Milan Ric Petrović, Duško Radović...

Mladen Mladenović arrived from Rijeka, Slobodan Kustudić also arrived, and Ulcinj was already home to the Sarajevo and Tuzla teams: from Mehmed Baždarević, through the former head coach of Montenegro Faruk Hadžibegić, Predrag Pašić, Husref Musemić, Enver Hadžiabdić, to Dževad Šećerbegović, Mirsad Fazlagić and others.

"Grbavice, you are my life", thundered on the pier, which especially touched Meša Baždarević.

There was also the legendary Ljubomir Radanović from Cetinje, Mićo Bakrač, a former football player of Hakduk, and it is not easy to list all those who have already arrived in the southernmost city, or will arrive today.

The legendary Belgrade commentator Milojko Pantić received a special ovation, to whom the lines that made him famous were immediately played: "The sky opened, the stadium exploded...", to the delighted coach of the Croatian water polo team Ivica Tucak, the European champion, as well as everyone else, known and less known, known and unknown...

"I have won Olympic gold medals and all the wonders of this world, but I have not experienced this," Deni Lušić, a famous Croatian water polo player, told "Slobodna Dalmacija" when he saw the police car that was a bus from Split with Gudel's friends and teammates among them he was also escorted to the Pier with rotating lights.

Former Zvezda and Partizan players, as well as Montenegrin football legends, are expected from Belgrade today...

The whole event started from the initiative to promote the book and film about the life of Ivan Gudelj in Ulcinj, which was initiated by the well-known Ulcinj and businessman Pavle Pepđonović.

Little by little, but quite spontaneously, the avalanche started - one by one, the arrival was attended by regional football legends, and the culmination happened last night - the song and fireworks will continue today and tomorrow...

The promotion of the film "Ivan's Game" will take place tonight in the Ulcinj House of Culture, and the film will be broadcast at the same time on the Little Beach Pier, via a video projector.
