Former cadet, youth and youth representative of Montenegro, Oliver Šarkić, is the new forward of Dečić, "Vijesti" has learned.
Šarkić (25) was born in Grimsby, England, and spent his entire career abroad. This will be his first club engagement in Montenegro.
He grew up in Anderlecht, where he went through the youth academy of the famous Belgian club. As a 17-year-old, he moved to Benfica, where he was part of the youth team and then the B team for almost three years.
In September 2018, he was loaned to the Leeds U21 team, when the "English" part of his career began.
In addition to Leeds, he played for Barton, Blackpool and Mansfield Town, and his last club before coming to Decic was Uzbekistan's Pahtakor.
Oliver's twin brother Matija is the goalkeeper of Wolverhampton, now on loan at Stoke, and also defends the colors of the Montenegrin national team.
Dečić has significantly renovated the team compared to the autumn part, with the new coach - Vladimir Gaćinović, he will soon go on a quest for at least one trophy.
