The head coach of the Scottish football team, Steve Clarke, said that there is still a long way to go to qualify for the European Championship, despite the victories in the first two matches of the qualifiers.
"You don't qualify with six points, so we have a long way to go. Two good games in the nine days we've been together. It was important to use the home games as much as possible and we managed to do that with the maximum number of points," said Clark, reported is Sky today.
Scotland's footballers beat Spain's Glasgow selection 2:0 on Tuesday evening in the second round of Group A qualification for the 2024 European Championship.
This was Scotland's third victory over Spain and their first since the 1984 World Cup qualifier.
In the first round of qualification for the European Championship, Scotland beat Cyprus 3:0 at home.
Clark pointed out that all the credit for the victories belongs to the players.
"We've got a good group and we're working hard to get better and better... We want to be competitive against the top teams and that's what we've done," Clark said.
Scotland participated in the previous European Championship, after defeating Serbia in the play-off after penalties.
Scotland will play their next match in the qualifiers on June 17 away against Norway.
