The Football Association of England has suspended Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic for eight games for being sent off in the round of XNUMX match of the FA Cup against Manchester United at "Old Trafford" last month.

Mitrović has already served one match, and he will not serve until May 13, when Fulham plays against Southampton.
The punishment is also "layered", which the FA explained in a statement:
"We believe that the standard punishment that would normally be applied to Aleksandar Mitrović due to the exclusion and the move he made towards the referee in the 72nd minute would be insufficient. The attacker denied guilt, but it was supported by the Regulatory Commission and he was awarded a penalty of three matches. This is in addition to the three-match suspension he received due to the suspension. The striker admitted that his words and behavior were not in accordance with the rules, that he used illegal words and that he threatened, so the Regulatory Commission imposed more a two-match suspension and a fine of £75.000. In total, the commission suspended Mitrovic for eight matches. He has already served one, so he will not be able to play for the club in the next seven matches," it said.
Fulham coach Marko Silva was also suspended for two matches, also due to being sent off, in the same match.
