Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti said today that he thinks that Karim Benzema, Luka Modrić and Toni Kroos will play for that club next season.
"I think he will stay," said Ancelotti, noting that negotiations on new contracts for Kroos and Modric are already underway.
Benzema, Modric and Kroos have been with Real Madrid since 2009, 2012 and 2014 respectively and have won numerous trophies with the club, including several Champions League titles.
Benzema (35) came from Lyon, 37-year-old Modrić from Tottenham, and 33-year-old Kroos from Bayern Munich.
While Real's game revolves around players in their thirties, Ancelotti said the club must also think about the future.
"We also have to think about the day when they stop playing. We have to look at the future from a different angle. We have fantastic young players, (Eduardo) Kamavinga, (Aurelien) Chuameni, (Federico) Valverde and (Dani) Ceballos, who will to be symbols of (another) era," the Italian coach added.
It is not known whether Ancelotti will stay at Real next season, after he recently said that he received an offer to become the coach of the Brazilian national team.
This season, Real will defend the title in the Champions League and will play in the final of the King's Cup, but they will most likely lose the title in Primera, as they are 27 points behind the leader Barcelona after 12 rounds.
On Saturday, Real will play at home against Villarreal in the championship.
In the quarterfinals of the Champions League, Real will play against Chelsea, the first game on the schedule is on April 12 at Stamford Bridge, and the second leg is six days later at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium.
