Yesterday, in the 29th round of the Croatian Football League (HNL), the Gorica players defeated Sibenik 4:0 and scored important points in the fight for survival.
The club, for which Montenegrin footballers Momčilo Raspopović and Nikola Vujnović play, is in last place in the table, but has only one point less than yesterday's rival.
And after the match in Šibenik, there was an interesting statement by Gorica coach Željko Sopić.
"We played a superb first half, the second half was a bit unwatchable. Now that Balkan mentality will take root, everyone on the bus will probably get drunk, and they don't know that there will be training at one o'clock in the morning, when we return to Gorica. Yes, there will be training, to get that alcohol out of them. And that's not a story for the media, that's what we decided three days ago," said Sopić after the match.
Sopić fulfilled his promise, so the Gorica players trained at one o'clock after midnight. The club announced on social media that the footballers were running after getting off the bus.
"If you were woken up by a light in Velika Gorica, don't worry, it's just our spotlights, we're training," the club's announcement reads.
