Real Madrid footballer Luka Modrić will most likely not play in the King's Cup final due to a thigh muscle injury, and his appearance in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final is also uncertain, the Spanish club announced today.
In the announcement, the current European champion did not specify when the 37-year-old midfielder will return to the field.
Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti said that he doubts his appearance on May 6 in the final of the King's Cup against Osasuna in Seville, and the club awaits the first match of the Champions League semi-final against Manchester City three days later.
Ancelotti stated that Modrić was injured on Tuesday in the league match against Girona (2:4).
"It's football and things like that happen. We hope he'll be back for the other important games," added the Italian coach.
Modric, the 2018 Ballon d'Or winner, won five Champions League titles with Real Madrid.
The players of Real Madrid will welcome the team of Almeria on Saturday, in the match of the 32nd round of the Spanish Primera. Real Madrid is currently 11 points behind leaders Barcelona.
