The striker of Sutjeska, the Dutchman Tyron Konrad, was declared the best footballer of the Meridianbet First Montenegrin Football League, in the traditional selection of the Union of Professional Footballers of Montenegro (SPFCG).
SPFCG chooses the best player of the domestic championship for the tenth year.
Konrad, who is also the league's top scorer, received the most votes in the poll, in which 182 football players from ten first-team clubs participated, receiving 128 votes.
He is the first foreigner to be declared the best player in the league, and the award was symbolically handed to him by "the Dutchman" - the legend of Montenegrin football Željko Petrović, student of the Dutch coaching football school, former player and coach of numerous Dutch and other clubs.
The union of professional footballers also chose the best team of the domestic championship, in which 12 footballers found a place.
It was announced that the two defensive footballers had the same number of votes, so they both found themselves in the ideal team.
The place among the best was won by goalkeeper Vladan Giljen (Sutjeska), right back Dragan Grivić (Sutjeska), left back Andrija Ražnatović (Budućnost), stoppers Marko Simić (Budućnost), Marko Tući (Dečić) and Vladan Adžić (Budućnost), midfielders Marko Matanović (Sutjeska), Novica Eraković (Sutjeska) and Draško Božović (Dečić) and forwards: Ivan Bulatović (Arsenal), Petar Grbić (Budućnost) and Tajron Konrad (Sutjeska).
The awards were presented to the defenders by the selector of the young national team of Montenegro, Nikola Rakojević, to the midfielders by the selector of the A national team, Miodrag Radulović, and to the forwards by the president of the Serbian National Football Association, Željko Janović.
The best in the 2022/2023 season were chosen by the footballers who play in Montenegrin clubs.
According to the provisions, players could not vote for themselves or their teammates.
