The United States of America has seen many legends, but a new era of soccer in that country somehow started last night - the Messi era in the MLS league.
In front of the packed "DRV PNK" stadium in Fort Lauderdale, one of the greatest football players of all time, Lionel Messi, was officially presented as the new "ten" of Inter Miami.
"I came here with the same desire that I always carried inside me," said the 36-year-old maestro.
Messi's debut is planned for July 22 when Inter will play the first match of the League Cup of North and Central America against Mexican Cruz Azul.
"I am sure we will have many wonderful experiences. I am very touched to be here in Miami, to be with you. I want to thank you - on behalf of my family, for the kindness you have shown me," Messi addressed the fans in Florida.
At the presentation was another football legend, and now one of the owners of Inter, David Beckham.
"We dreamed of the elite and the best players, and we brought the best to ever put on football boots - his name is Lionel Andres Messi," said Beckham.
