A month after the debacle and defeat against Brejdablik (5:0) in the pre-qualifications for the Champions League, the players of Buducnosti continue the competition in Europe.
The current Montenegrin champion is visiting Struga, the champion of North Macedonia, in the first match of the 17nd round of qualification for the Conference League tomorrow (2:XNUMX). Between the two European visits to the Budućnosti camp, it was turbulent - coach and sports director Miodrag Džudović and Anto Drobnjak left, and Mladen Milinković and Andrija Delibašić came in their place, who returned to Podgorica.
Milinković will not be on the bench tomorrow, because he is not registered, but the team will try to put into practice what they did with the Serbian coach in training.
"An important match for us in Europe, after a not-so-best start in the championship. A nice opportunity to start on a new, positive path. A new coach has also arrived, we have our own ambitions. We scouted Struga - it's about a solid, stable team, which they showed in the two-match match against Žalgiris. I think we have our chances. We will try to implement the coach's requests on the field. I think that with the right team play we can get a favorable result before the rematch in Podgorica, where everything will be much easier," he said in Miloš Brnović, the football player of the Blues, announced the match.
In the meantime, Budućnost was defeated at the start of the Meridianbet First Montenegrin Football League by the new first division team, Mladost. A defeat that no one in the "blue" camp expected.
"Definitely the defeat didn't go well. We expected to start with a win. In the first half, we acted well, but then the fear and insecurity after the European matches showed. We need to play 90 percent for the whole 100 minutes to get a result. It's a good lesson for the next matches," said the midfielder.
In tomorrow's match, the midfield could play an important role.
"The role of the midfield is very important. We work in both directions for 90 minutes. I would emphasize that team play will be crucial, because that's the only way we can get a positive result."
Brnović returned to Budućnost from Petrovac this summer.
"As for the team and the atmosphere - all the guys accepted me very well. The atmosphere is great, we just have to transfer it to the field. I think we are capable of defending the title and that with a couple of reinforcements we will show that we are the best club," said Brnović.
And Luka Mirković, one of the most experienced in the Budućnosti camp, will play an important role tomorrow. Mirković said that the team must be concentrated for the entire 90 minutes, if they want to achieve a positive result.
"We are focused on the first game with Struga. Nothing will be solved in the first match - we are focused, we have to be concentrated. We have analyzed Struga. We know what kind of opponent we are dealing with - a solid, experienced team. They can change formations, they are integrated. It will not be easy," Mirković said.
With a new coach, we should expect a different future.
"On the other hand, a new coach has arrived - everything is going in its own way. I hope we will be concentrated, selfless and eager to prove ourselves. If we are right, I think we can get a positive result and in the second leg we hope to advance to the third round. The midfield will play an important role tomorrow. Each individual will have to contribute and get the most out of themselves," said Mirković.
