The President of Tivat Željko Komnenović and the President of the Board of the Arsenal Football Club Dejan Kandić today signed and submitted a criminal complaint against unknown persons to the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Kotor, with the request that the Prosecutor's Office investigate all the circumstances of the event related to the alleged match-fixing in the Conference League qualifiers.
The Polish state television TVP and the Sport portal announced yesterday that there are serious indications that two matches of the 1st round of qualification for the Conference League were fixed, and that one of them was the duel between Arsenal and Armenian Alashkert (1:6).

TVP claims that during the first half - even though the score was 35:0 until the 0th minute - bookmakers received more than 250.000 euros on the game "2+ goals" during the first 45 minutes. The first goal at "DG Arena" was scored in the 40th minute, and the second in stoppage time in the first half. Everything, the Poles write, continued in the second half when, as TVP says, suspicious payments for 5+ and 7+ goals started.
"I appeal to the Prosecutor's Office to investigate all the circumstances of this case. I don't want a shadow to fall on the name of Arsenal, one of the oldest Montenegrin clubs. All this time, Arsenal represented Tivat and Montenegro worthily. We are sincere in our intention to make this club a brand, a stable first league player, and the fact that the club gathers 300 children from Tivat proves that we are on the right track," said Komnenović.
The announcement states that Komnenović said that the club's management has the full support of the Municipality of Tivat and him personally, and asked the Prosecutor's Office to act quickly and efficiently.
The press release states that Arsenal president Dejan Kandic emphasized his belief that the club "has nothing to do with what the media is implying."
"Arsenal's meteoric rise is not viewed with much sympathy by everyone. We are a young collective with a long tradition that succeeded in a short time. We fulfilled everything promised. All that cannot be tainted by the story that is published in the media," Kandic said and added that if the responsibility of individuals is determined - they should be held accountable.
"But, if the innocence of the management and the club is established, I ask the media to report on it with equal interest. I will openly say that I am disappointed with the game and the result in the match against "Alaškert" in Podgorica. I considered that the double match with Alashkert was a small patriotic battle for the Montenegrin coefficient in the ranking of football countries in Europe. For that reason I am sorry. We lost," Kandic said.
The announcement states that the president of the club's assembly, Ivo Bošković, reminded those present at the conference that the board members did not come to the club with the intention of engaging in dishonest activities, and that the board's only goal is to get children off the streets and bring them closer to sports.
The management of FC "Arsenal" says that they will ambitiously continue towards the set goals, strengthening the club, winning the Montenegrin championship, going to Europe again, and that they owe it to the numerous young players of the club. The announcement states that the works on the new premises are nearing completion, and around 800.000 euros have been invested in the field and accompanying facilities, which is the investment of the Football Association of Montenegro and the Municipality of Tivat.
