The football club Roma reached an agreement with Chelsea to bring forward Romelu Lukaku on loan until the end of the season, British media reported today.
As reported by Sky, the heads of Roma, Ryan Friedkin and Tiago Pinto, were in London during the weekend to personally negotiate with the representatives of Chelsea about bringing Lukaku. The clubs have reached an agreement on the loan, and Roma will pay around eight million pounds.
Lukaku spent last season on loan at Inter, as he was not on good terms with Chelsea, after he expressed dissatisfaction with the work of the then coach Thomas Tuchel in an interview. The new Chelsea coach Mauricio Pochettino said that he does not count on Lukaku this season, who moved from Inter to Stamford Bridge in 2021. The Belgian footballer wanted to return to Italy and is happy to go to Roma, where he will work again with coach Jose Mourinho. Inter, Juventus and Saudi Al Hilal were also interested in him.
