Mexican media claims: Andrija Vukčević in Juarez

There is no confirmation yet, but the Mexican media have no dilemma - Andrija Vukčević is the new soccer player of Mexican Juarez.

Juarez started the new season very well, won 14 points in seven games and is the leader of Liga MX, as well as the team with the most goals scored - 15.

The Montenegrin representative spent the previous 19 months in Rijeka, and the coach of the team from Rujevica, Željko Sopić, spoke admiringly of him, after the 26-year-old from Podgorica decided to play in the second leg of the Conference League qualifiers against Lille.

"That was his last game for Rijeka. We talked to him, the guy was supposed to fly out yesterday, but he decided to stay and help. This morning we gave him a well-deserved round of applause, he showed how much he loves this city. He didn't even think about his health, and we know he's going to Mexico," Sopić pointed out on Thursday evening, after his team was eliminated after extra time.

The day after the last game for Rijeka, Vukčević traveled to Spain, where he underwent medical examinations, and now he is just waiting for confirmation from the Mexican state of Chihuahua.

The Montenegrin national team player started his career in Podgorica, then played for Buducnost, the second team Sevilla, Spanish San Fernando, Subotica Spartak and Belgian Vasland Bevern, from which he arrived in Rijeka.

Vukčević, however, will not be the first Montenegrin footballer in Mexico, because Dejan-Džaja Peković, who wore the Puebla jersey, played in that country back in 1998.
