The manager of Napoli soccer player Viktor Osimeno threatened to file a lawsuit, as the club mocked his client on social networks.
Napoli posted a video on TikTok showing Osimen missing a penalty in Sunday's game against Bologna, with a baby voice saying: "Give me a penalty".
Napoli deleted the post.
The player's manager, Roberto Calenda, said Napoli's move was unacceptable.
"We reserve the right to take legal steps and any initiative to protect Viktor. What happened is unacceptable. The video mocking Viktor was first published and then belatedly deleted. A serious fact that causes very serious damage to the player who has been suffering lately because of the posts in the media and fake news," Kalenda said, the BBC reported.
Osimen questioned the decision of coach Rudi Garcia to bring him into the 86th game on Sunday against Bologna, which ended 0:0.
The Nigerian footballer moved from Lille to Napoli in the summer of 2020 for a club record €81,3 million and was one of the main contributors to the title win last season, scoring 26 goals in 32 Serie A games.
Chelsea and Manchester United were interested in him this summer. He scored three goals in six games this season.
