A turbulent period is behind Dečić, the Sutjeska debacle three weeks ago now seems as far away as if it happened last season, and not in the 8th round of the Meridianbet First Football League.
The defeat against Nikšić (4:0 at Stari aerodrome) cost the coach his job Juraj Jarabek, and Tuzan's response was fascinating - after the departure of the Slovaks, they recorded three victories without conceding a goal and flew to first place.
The team was taken over by a former member of the Montenegrin national team Milorad Peković, and the last triumph in the series was recorded by Dečić on Sunday against Budućnosti (2:0), which he skipped in the table and from which he now has a point more.
- In football, the situation changes quickly, now everything has turned to our side and progress in our game is evident. With the new coach, it's different, the results show that - said the midfielder Andrej Bajović, who scored for 1:0 against Buducnosti.
Looking from this perspective, it seems that the team needed a "slap" like Sutjeska.
- After that defeat, something definitely changed. We players had a meeting, we also talked with the club leaders and something needed to happen, to see what and how. Fortunately, everything quickly fell into place, now there is one of the best coaches he worked with - said Bajović, who also worked with Peković in Podgorica.
The match against Budućnosti only confirmed how much Dečić can do.
- I think that on paper we are the best team in Montenegro and that we are slowly proving it. Of course, this is not a guarantee for the title, but we deservedly won against Buducnosti. We wanted a triumph more, I admit that I expected more from the opponent - says the 20-year-old young national team member.
Bajović scored in the 14th minute, the Blues had a chance to come back in the second half when Veljko Batrović missed the penalty, and he scored the victory in the 81st Drasko Bozovic which was accurate from the point of view.
- Draško had some chances before the goal to make it 2:0, but probably everything would have been different if Budućnost had used the penalty. However, we showed more, the champion, except for that penalty and two chances in the very finish, did not threaten much - added Bajović.
Dečić does not hide his championship ambitions, but it seems that he approaches the topic a little more carefully than was the case in previous years when he also had a competitive team.
- I would say that we learned a lesson from last season when we wanted a lot, dreamed of the title, and in the end we were left without a place in Europe. And the pressure of the people from the club is less, we have to think match by match, to go step by step, because many people want the same as us. The future and Sutjeska are in the first place - Bajović is clear.
Dečić is one point ahead of Budućnost, he has five advantages over Sutjeska...
- Only 11 rounds have passed, it is still too early to draw conclusions, because the difference between the teams is only a few points. It will be uncertain for the title, but also for placement on the European stage, because Petrovac, Jezero, Arsenal also want it...
Bajović scored two goals this season and is satisfied with his performances.
- I think I'm improving day by day, that's the most important thing. I also know that I can do better and I want to show that in Dečić and the young national team - concluded Bajović.
