The October cycle for the young football team of Montenegro was unsuccessful - after losing to Switzerland (4:2) on Friday, Nikola Pec Rakojević's team lost today away from Albania (2:0) in the qualifiers for the European Championship.
Montenegro conceded a goal in both halves, from the 39th minute they played with one less player (Andrej Bajović sent off), and a more convincing defeat was prevented by goalkeeper Nikola Ivezić, who had as many as 10 saves.
Albania had its first chance already in the fifth minute, but Dajko was inaccurate, and ten minutes later, after Vasilij Adzić's cross, Balša Tošković shot over the goal.
After that, there was a lull until the 26th minute - the action of the home team started from the goalkeeper Lila, Redzepi launched Špendi, who was brought down by Đeljaj in the penalty area. The goal from the penalty was scored by Berisha.
Five minutes before the break, Montenegro was left with one player less, as captain Andrej Bajović received the second yellow card. In the very next attack, Albania had a chance, but Ivezić stopped Špendi, and then Nikola Janjić shot from about 20 meters away, but his shot was not strong, so Lilo made an easy save. It was this shot by the Slovenian Bravo player that was the only one on target in the first 45 minutes.
In the continuation, the Albanians were constantly dangerous, led by Redžepi from the left side, who often caused problems, and after his solo penetration, precisely on the left side, the final score became Špendi in the 73rd minute.
Špendi hit the post before the goal, in one attack, after an assist from Berisha, and was later stopped by Ivezić. Ismaili and Berisha threatened, but the goalkeeper of Belgian Lomel was up to the task.
In the second half, Montenegro shot only once into the opponent's goal, Janjić had a chance again, after penetrating from the right side, but Lilo saved it.
In the next round, on November 21, Montenegro welcomes Albania.
