The women's senior football team of Montenegro is visiting Azerbaijan tomorrow (13) in the fourth round of group C3 of the UEFA Nations League.
A month ago, Montenegro lost to Azerbaijan in the first match (1:0), they have one point less than their rivals, so tomorrow's match is crucial in the fight for first place.
"We can definitely play with them, we are absolutely not inferior. As in Podgorica, we will try to impose ourselves on the pitch, I'm sure we have the quality for that. The Azerbaijani women are aggressive, spoil the game well, run a lot and these are their greatest qualities. Anyway, - our goal is to win", said coach Mirko Marić.
On Friday, Montenegro defeated Cyprus (2:0) from where it arrived in Baku. But the victory in Cyprus also came at a price - due to injuries, Armisa Kuč, Helena Božić and Jelena Karličić are questionable.
"We have a selection of 25 players and all of them are members of the team. We will see what will happen to the injured girls and how much and if they will be able to help. In any case, we have to have both plan A and plan B", said Marić.
Marić can count on Medina Dešić and Nađa Stanović for the match against Azerbaijan in Podgorica.
"We have a tough match against Azerbaijan. They are our main competitors for first place. They beat us in Podgorica, even though we were better and had better chances. I hope we will overcome them. We will do our best. We want first place." said Armisa Kuč.
