Since the beginning of the third millennium, Dinamo Zagreb has not fallen out of the top 10 clubs that earned the most in the world by transfer. Year after year, "Blues" manage to keep their positions on the Transfermarkt research table, regardless of the fact that transfers are made from, for European conditions, a weak league such as the HNL.
Transfermarkt has published a list of the 10 clubs that earned the most from transfers in the last decade, i.e. since the 2013/2014 season. year and the "Blues" are listed in a great 10th place. In that period, Dinamo had a net profit of 231 million euros, it realized the transfers of its players for 307 million in compensation, while it bought for only 76 million in the same period.
If it is known that for Josko Guardiola, at this moment the officially most expensive defender in the world, Dinamo could not collect more than 36,8 million from Leipzig (Guardiol moved from the Bundesliga to Manchester City this summer for a dizzying 100 million), then it is clear how weak Dinamo's starting position is compared to to the European giants.
A look at the figures for which Dinamo gave up its stars, and then at their next transfer, shows that the "mordies" sold the players they brought to their academy three times more expensive, and then in the strongest leagues their value was three times more larger. That's right Mateo Kovačić moved to Inter for 11 million, and after two years he transferred to Manchester City for 33 million. Dejan Lovren Lyon cost nine, so Southampton took him from there for 25.
Even before the last decade, Dinamo was in the Top 10, more precisely, it is ninth in the list of club balance sheets in the last 21 years. And not only does Dinamo make a lot of money, but it also provides at least half of the national team of the "fire" team. And if you look only at the transfers of players from your own academy in this millennium, only River Plata is ahead of Dinamo with 359 million received as compensation from departures, second is Dinamo with 331 million.
And Benfica earned the most, which realized transfers worth 1,25 billion in the last decade, its profit was 644 million, which means that it "sold" twice as much as it brought in players. Ajax is second, with a profit of 476 million, and Salzburg is third with a profit of 435 million.
