A sports festival on the Pier and a message of friendship and love

Everything in Ulcinj is ready to welcome more than a hundred football and other sports legends of ex-Yugoslavia, led by Dejan Savićević, Zvonimir Boban, Ivan Gudelja, Zoran Slavnić, Svetlana Kitić, Šaban Trsten...

The "Ulcin Friendship World Cup" starts next weekend, it will last three days and without a doubt, it will be the central sports event in the region. The main initiator and one of the organizers of the event, Pavle Pepđonović, after last year's "Ivan's Game of Ulcinj", which he was also the creator of, is looking forward to the new friendship at the Friendship World Cup.

"The whole city united in terms of organization. The last preparations are going on with great energy, there is not a citizen who did not come forward and support the event on their own initiative", said this respected Ulcinj businessman, former basketball player and sports worker to "Vijesta".

He stated that the overall atmosphere surrounding this event makes the city proud.

"Again, from the most beautiful city on the Adriatic, we are sending a message of friendship, respect, love, togetherness and peace. Athletes are ambassadors of the world", said Pepđonović, stating that there is huge interest in the upcoming event from all the leading media from the region.

According to the idea of ​​the organizers, in one part of the event they would try to revive the iconic the show "The Corner for a Disputed Moment", which was hosted by the famous sports journalist Marko Marković on Monday evenings.

Unlike last year, this year the list of Yugoslav sports legends who have confirmed their arrival is much longer, so a new, true spectacle is expected and a three-day festivity at the Port and in the Old Town.

"Thank you to everyone for your support, there is no first in this story, we are all one team," said Pepđonović.

Apart from him, both events were supported on their own initiative by almost all citizens of Ulcinj, entire families, businessmen, hoteliers, restaurateurs, local administration, Tourist Organization and community, private and public companies, religious communities, local sports clubs, fishermen, taxi drivers...

"It is an additional source of my enthusiasm and positive energy that inspires all of us in the front ranks to persevere and be at the same level until the end," said Pepđonović.

On the first day of the "Friendship World Cup", a presentation of the participants is planned, followed by a formal dinner in one of the restaurants in Ulcinj. The second day was reserved for the promotion of the film by journalist and publicist Milutin Grgur about "Ivan's Ulcinj Game". On the third day, a showcase match of football legends is planned, lasting twice for 20 minutes.
