The national stadium is everyone's wish, the next instance is the Government of Montenegro

The national stadium is the wish of all football fans in Montenegro, not only the Football Association, said the general secretary of that association, Momir Đurđevac.

He thanked the Minister of Sports Dragoslav Šćekić for starting the story about the national stadium. Šćekić announced on Wednesday that Montenegro needs a national stadium and that he will initiate talks with the leaders of the FSCG in this regard as soon as possible. Đurđevac said that the first meeting with the minister had already taken place and that they discussed how the national stadium should look like, how to get to the conceptual main project and how much it could cost. "The story has started, and the next instance is the Government of Montenegro, more precisely the Ministry of Finance. The Football Association has undertaken to contact the relevant addresses within UEFA and FIFA who can help us with certain projects, and of course that story will develop later," he said. Đurđevac at the press conference.

He believes that the stadium should have a capacity of 16 to 20 thousand spectators and be multi-purpose.

"To be sustainable as a facility or enterprise that will work during 365 days, and not only during those five games during the year, as much as the A national team has obligations in one competitive year. As soon as the story is told, I hope that there will be some effect from that story ", said Đurđevac.

Responding to the question of whether the talk about the construction of the national stadium seems perhaps the most serious so far, Đurđevac said that until now it was only speculation as to whether the national stadium would be built at all.

"Now there is a story from the position of the Minister of Sports. Up until now, there was talk that the city stadium in Podgorica should be adapted. I think that the city stadium should be preserved, of course it should be remodeled so that national championship matches can be played there, so that our clubs in Europe can play there , and the national stadium is known for which matches it should be," said Đurđevac.
