Our soccer players are playing their last game against Cyprus in the C League of Nations - a victory would give Mirko Marić's team a chance to advance through the playoffs to the higher ranks of this competition.
The match at DG Arena starts at 16 p.m.
And, the introduction to this match was excellent, because four days ago our girls defeated the Faroe Islands with 9:0.
"We should use the match against the Faroe Islands to gain more confidence, but we should not think that we have finished the job and performed a miracle. We have a tough game ahead of us, against a selection that knows how to play and wants to play, which we also saw in Cyprus, even though we won with 2:0", warned coach Mirko Marić.
Helena Božić hopes that the team will enter the game in the right way.
"After the 9:0 victory, the most important thing is to calm down the emotions, to enter the match calmly and to show what we know. We want three points which bring us a lot. It's clear that we have potential, we expected to win in such a convincing way, but it didn't surprise us, because we work well, we play abroad, we stick together..." said the football player from Dinamo Moscow.
Cyprus should not be underestimated despite the 2:0 victory in the first part of the competition away from home.
"Cyprus is absolutely not an easy rival, not a naive team at all. We won 2:0, we could have used another chance, but we have a tough match ahead of us," pointed out Aleksandra Popović.
