Failed "investment": Zvezda dismissed Barak Bahar

Partizan players beat Red Star 2:1 in the 171st eternal derby, won the autumn title, but also caused changes in the rival camp.

After the match, as reported by the Belgrade media, the management of Zvezda fired the Israeli coach Barak Bahar, who this summer took over one of the most expensive teams in the region ever, even the Belgrade club paid compensation to Maccabi from Haifa to bring him.

"Extremely important victory for us, given the circumstances, because after a few hiccups before the derby, we allowed Zvezda to enter the derby with two extra points. We won, but this is not a 100-meter race and those stories about the autumn title don't touch me, the most important is who finishes first," Partizan coach Igor Duljaj said after the game.

"I was not touched by the statements from the rival camp that they will beat us 3:0 or 4:0, everyone can say what they want. As for the players, it is possible that they read it and that it motivated them further," said Duljaj.
