Al Ittihad footballer Karim Benzema has asked the management to temporarily leave the club.
As the France Press agency reported today, Al Ittihad offered the French footballer to go on loan to another Saudi club, but Benzema refused.
As stated by a source close to the club, Benzema "thinks he cannot give the maximum at Al Ittihad due to too much pressure".
Benzema has a contract with Al Ittihad until 2026.
The French media reported that the former French national team player could return to Lyon.
Benzema extended his vacation without the club's permission and later joined the team.
He has scored 12 goals in 20 games this season, but fans have criticized him for his poor form.
The team is currently seventh in the Saudi league, 25 points behind leaders Al Hilal with a game in hand, and won the title last year.
