One hundred Sailor's years: The century of the club from Bar was marked with a monograph and a ceremonial academy

The Bar football club "Mornar" marked its century of existence with the monograph "100 Years of the Sailor", a photo exhibition and a ceremonial academy in honor of the club, during which former, present, future players and club management were honored.

Monograph by authors Željko Milović and Dragan Stojanović, published by the Municipality of Bar and its president Dušan Raičević, on 438 pages of stories about the history, matches, anecdotes and fans of FK "Mornar" with 662 archival photos.

Milović said that when Raičević presented them with the idea of ​​a book about one hundred years of Sailors, they were doubtful whether it could be achieved in a year.

"We managed to do that before. The complete book was not conceived as a set of statistical data, who scored goals, how, but rather told the story of important people, events that had a decisive impact on the city and Mornar," Milović said.

Dragan Stojanović said that in the monograph he paid special attention to the events from the period from 1993 to 1995, when he led FK Mornar as a coach, and the most difficult thing, according to him, was to find photos.

The match coordinator of Mornar, Đuro Stambolić, also spoke at the presentation of the monograph, saying that this monograph is proof of the longevity of the club and the generations of Barans who lived in Mornar.

"In this monograph are us, our fathers, our grandfathers, our current coat of arms and the one from 100 years ago, four stadiums, our legends and our journeys by boat, truck, train, and train. There are people with whom the younger ones have risen," Stambolić emphasized.

Raičević thanked the authors and said that the culture of memory is important for everyone in Bar.

"As much as we tried to present the history of the Mariners as successful from the aspect of sports results, it was not exactly such a situation. We concluded that the history of Mornar is a tradition that is woven into the history of the city and our family tradition," said Raičević.

In the hall of the House of Culture in Bar, where the promotion was held, an exhibition of photos of numerous Mornar players was set up.

At the ceremonial academy in honor of the club's centenary, a short film was shown in which Barani, related to Mornar, spoke about the club and their memories. Impressions were shared by Dževad Rastoder, Nenad Vučković, Vasilije Milošević, Svetislav Marković, Dušica Mijović and Dušan Raićević.

Short feature films that convey anecdotes of sailors throughout history were also shown.

Milovan Perović, the president of the club, said that they are the Sailor, and they are the Sailor, and that Bar "Mornar" is the best trophy for them.

"Mornar is not Barcelona, ​​not Liverpool, not Juventus, he is much more. The sailor is a collection of stories, anecdotes, adventures, a chest in which memories are stored. He is the energy of the present and the will for the future. "I am proud, not of the title of club president, but of the club that is the host of our dreams," he said.

In the hall of the Cultural Center there was a large number of Barans, personalities from local and national sports life, players and fans. They were also addressed by the president of the Football Association of Montenegro (FSCG), Dejan Savićević, who was greeted with the song "Dejo majstore".

Savićević said from the lectern that the first hundred years of the Mariners' existence could serve everyone with pride and that they were marked by dedicated work, enthusiasm and love for football.

"The glory of Mornar and Bar was passed on by generations of players, including those who wrote their names in the greatest successes of Yugoslav football. I must mention Slobod Marović, your fellow citizen and my teammate from the great generation of Red Star. "I am sure that Bar is also proud of the achievements of Dragoje Leković, a fantastic goalkeeper," Savićević said.

He also mentioned Mitar Novaković, whom he said left a big mark on the game of the national team, as well as numerous personalities who left a mark on the game and work of the Sailors.

He said that he is sure that Mornar will continue to create excellent players who will celebrate Bar and Montenegro throughout Europe and the world, and he also presented the club with gifts on behalf of FSCG.

Zoran Đurašković, coach of the first team, and Dejan Nenezić, founder and coach of the Mornar football school, said that they took their first football steps in Bar, which is why they are especially proud to be celebrating this anniversary.

Both still dream the most beautiful dreams called Europe. They are also proud of their players, roosters, pioneers, cadets and youth.

Željko Milović, speaking about the monograph, said that although many dream of Mornar in Europe, he hopes that the club will remain what it has always been - a city club.

"I want to thank the publisher, the Municipality of Bar, for giving me the opportunity to be Anto Radović and Neno Vučković, at least for a short time. "None of this would have happened if it weren't for Vasko Milošević, who patiently collected clippings and memorabilia about Mornar for decades, the keeper of his treasure, and his brother Boško, whose football reports were a great support when writing these texts," he said.

Bar is a Sailor and a Sailor is Bar, said the President of the Municipality of Bar, Dušan Raičević. He said that they are celebrating a hundred years of passion, struggle and immense pride.

"Tonight, an excited boy from the stands is speaking from me, like when our Sailor came close to the Supranik goal. That fan emotion lifts me even now, because celebrating the centenary of our Sailor, I can proudly say - we won," he announced.

Raičević also presented honorary awards to Dejan Savićević and Vasilij Milošević, professor of physical education, long-time football worker and coach, and Svetislav Śar Marković, one of the most outstanding fans of "Sailors".
