The start of spring in the Meridianbet First Montenegrin Football League is getting closer, and the focus is on current champion and leader Budućnost, and the biggest threat to Podgorica in the fight for both trophies, Dečić.
Tuzani have arrived from Antalya, and now they are finishing preparations for a stormy start - already in the first official game they will have the toughest test, a visit to Gorica.
Buducnost has two points more than Dečić, the success of Tuzan would mean a breakthrough to first place. The chosen ones Milorad Peković have prepared hard for that challenge.
- It was great in Antalya, from the conditions, the training ground, the matches and the weather was really ideal for us. The tests we had were also excellent, from the victory against Shakhtar's youth team with 4:1, the defeat against Tuzla City with 2:1, and the great Dnipro, which is second in the strongest league of Ukraine with 2:0. I am most satisfied with the team's performance in the game and the draw with Banjik from Ostrava, in which we had a great match against an unpleasant team from the Czech Republic. Although at the start of the championship they were projected as the most serious candidates for the title, and especially after the triumph against Sutjeska in the Cup of Montenegro, where the Nikšić team defended the trophy, Dečić fell into a result crisis. - Bubućnost is a big favorite, it has strengthened significantly and has the greatest resources, tradition and experience. It is up to us to try to give our best on the field. It is a favorable circumstance that soon, after two or three games, we will finally be able to play in Tuzi at the new stadium, where it will not be easy for anyone in front of a fiery and loyal audience. On our side, there is a great relationship in the club, the dressing room and maximum support and understanding. There were arrivals, and the reinforcements fit in perfectly - said Peković.
During the preparations, three important footballers in Peković's lineup suffered minor injuries and will not be ready for the start on February 17 in the away game of Budućnost.
