The players of Rudar will be free to choose a new center, and the first league team from Pljevlja will not play in the spring part of the championship if they do not solve their debt problems by Tuesday.
President of Rudar Miloš Radanović will know on Tuesday at the meeting in the Football Association of Montenegro whether there is a solution for the club with the most trophies from the northern region.
"The problem is the blocking of our account since November 10 and the debt owed to Žarko Peličić. If we manage to agree on payments in installments, we hope that we would succeed, even though Rudnik decided to pay us half the amount. By blocking the account, we are unable to get sponsorship from EPCG, but also to apply for money from SO Pljevlje. We are in a very difficult situation, the organization of the match costs from 2.200 to 2.500 euros, and we certainly won't be able to do that with a blocked account - explained Radanović.
The club also owes the players half of the amount of one salary.
"The debt to Peličić is indisputable, out of 152.000 we returned 20.000. Basically, since November 10 last year, we have been spending personal money or money from friends. They also paid for our preparations in Podgorica, but the sponsor's payments to our account are now reducing the debt. Muhamed Gerina, who has been in the club for 43 years, and I, have been doing everything to raise the club since the summer. The plan was greatly exceeded in terms of results and in terms of team composition, but the situation is worse. We are simply blocked, and the players, instead of thinking about football and the game against the biggest competitor, Jedinstva in Bijelo Polje on February 17, they are worried about whether they will play," Radanović pointed out.
The former goalkeeper of Pljevljak won both league titles and two of the four trophies of the Montenegrin Cup with the "miners".
"We are in the semi-finals of the Cup, and despite the problems we can still hope for the championship, all the more so because we have brought back Nemanja Kartal, Ognjen Kasalica and Dusan Živković, and on Monday we will know if Sentoku will stay. We strengthened ourselves with Nikola Ukšanović and Joli Okamoto. in the first half yesterday we were leading and missed four more good chances against Sutjeska. More precisely, Giljen defended phenomenally, and then coach Nedeljko Vlahović changed the team in the second half, gave everyone a chance and Nikšić turned around and won 3:1. That half-time and a draw in match with Voska from North Macedonia (2:2) is an indicator of excellent quality and it would be a shame if this team does not continue to compete", concluded president Miloš Radanović.
And six trophies in independent Montenegro were won by Rudar, by which they were at the top of the domestic clubs with the most trophies for a long time before they were overtaken by Budućnost and Sutjeska. Pljevlja were champions twice - in 2010 and 2015, and won the Cup four times - in 2007, 2010, 2011 and 2016, and hold the record together with FK Budućnost.
