Pioneers played to a draw against Romania, Ljumović: Congratulations to the boys, especially in the first half

The pioneering football team of Montenegro played today in Petrovac, in a friendly match, with Romania tied 2:2.

The Montenegrin team was closer to victory at the "Mitar Mićo Goliš" stadium, they had a two-goal advantage and led to the very finish, but failed to save it.

They took the lead with a goal by Miloš Šekularac in the fourth, and Petar Rešetar increased the lead to 2:0 in the 19th minute.

At the end of the match, Luka Vaduva and Matej Tikala prevented their team from losing.

Selector Minja Ljumović said that the Montenegrin selection opened the match well, with two quick goals.

"The boys showed a very good game in the field, pressing high in the opponent's half. Such a game was followed by the result, so I can be very satisfied with the first half. In the following, I saw that some players had a lot of consumption, therefore I reacted with a few changes to freshen up the team. Unfortunately, that didn't bring us a good game, and we conceded two goals after bad reactions," Ljumović said.

He believes that his team, after an excellent first half, had to play better in the second with all the changes.

"In the end, it's a shame that we lost a 2:0 lead against an excellent team from Romania, but certainly congratulations to the boys, especially in the first half," Ljumović said.

A new duel of the same rivals is scheduled for Thursday (12), at the training camp of the Budućnost Football Club.
