This may be his worst season since arriving at Atletico Madrid, but when the decisive games in the Champions League come around, he becomes a wall.
That's how Pasqual Ruiz Arnal, a Spanish journalist close to Atlético who writes for "Marka" among others, described the new night to remember Stefan Savić in the "red and white" jersey - now in the season when Diego Simeone is dosing his playing time.

Atlético lost in Milan with 1:0, they also lost last night in Madrid, but they managed to turn the Nerazzurri around (2:1) to the end and after 120 minutes of fighting and penalty-roulette they advanced to the quarterfinals of the Champions League.
"I'm happy that we celebrated, especially because we were in a difficult situation, and apart from our incredible fans, no one believed in us," Savić added.
He also says that Ćolo Simeone announced a similar outcome to them.
"As a team, we did everything together, we knew that this would be a long match and that we would have to fight until the end. The coach told us before the game to be ready, because we have a long night ahead of us," revealed Savić.
He is especially proud of his teammates.
"All the guys who played showed the same spirit, the same courage and I'm very happy for all of them".
Atlético has two faces this season and it's practically as if they are two different teams when they play away and at their "Metropolitan".
"We're having a bit of a strange season away from our stadium, I don't know why it's happening - maybe it's the intensity, maybe it's the mentality, but I'm sure it's not too late to fix it. We're aware of everything, we've heard a lot of well-deserved criticism lately, but we are working hard, we will not give up because we are a stubborn team and we will be a tough rival for every team in the quarterfinals," Savić is clear.
During the match, Savić fought many fierce duels with the Inter attackers, especially with Markus Tiram - this weakness seemed to annoy the French footballer, who at one point caught the Montenegrin stopper in an awkward spot. A British journalist jokingly asked Savić if everything was alright.
"It's a strange situation, but everything is OK - such things happen during the game. Really everything is fine, in the end we laughed at everything together. It was strange, but it's not that important," concluded Savić.
