Match number two in Antalya - for Montenegro, but also for North Macedonia. Our national football team will have the opportunity to properly introduce themselves to coach Robert Prosinečko once again in just a few days at the "Mardan Stadium" from 18:XNUMX p.m. today.
The legendary Croatian announced that compared to the first match on the Turkish Riviera, he will start today with 10 new players in the starting line-up led by captain Stevan Jovetić, and something similar is planned by Blagoja Milevski, his colleague on the North Macedonian bench.
"There will be changes in the lineup - we are here to play two games and to check the potential of individual players in different positions. We did that in the match with Moldova, and it will be the same with Montenegro," Milevski said, as reported by Gol.mk.
After the premier games in Antalya, Prosinečki has more reasons to be satisfied - his team defeated Belarus 2:0, with nice moves, actions and goals.
On the other hand, Milevski and his team played a draw with Moldova (1:1) - they led with a goal by Bojan Miovski from Aberdeen, after a poor intervention by the goalkeeper of Moldova, while on the other side of the table, Dimitrievski took the ball out of the net after a spectacular goal by Vitalije Damaskan.
"I'm not satisfied with the performance in the match against Moldova, we should have scored at least one more goal from the six opportunities we had and closed the game like that," Milevski stressed.
Football in North Macedonia has reached magical limits in recent years - the national team of this country played at the 2020 European Championship, and then managed to record great victories against the giants of Germany and Italy. Now she is waiting for a test against Montenegro as part of preparations for the next edition of the League of Nations, and Milevski believes that the Falcons are an ideal sparring partner.
"Of course, if it is so - we are playing against an opponent that has a lot of quality players who play in Spain, Italy and other strong leagues. In addition - it is difficult to play against a team that has just changed its coach. I repeat - it is about quality selection made up of excellent individuals and it will be a great opportunity to compete with such a rival," Milevski concluded.
The coach of North Macedonia started the match with Moldova with all the big stars (like Eljif Elmas, Enis Bardi, Ezgjan Alioski and Dimitrievski), so it will be interesting which 11 he will choose in the match against Montenegro.
