The German football representative and member of Real Madrid, Toni Kroos, has decided to end his career after the European Championship, "Marka" reports.
The information was confirmed by Real Madrid.
"Toni Kroos is one of the greatest players in Real's history. Madrid will always be his home," said Real's president, Florentino Peres.
Toni Kroos arrived in Madrid in 2014 from Bayern Munich and in the meantime became one of the best midfielders in the world. He started his career in Hansa, from where he arrived at Bayern's youth system, which sent him on loan to Bayer Leverkusen for one season.
He played 463 games for Real Madrid and won everything there is to win. He has four La Liga titles, one Copa del Rey, four Champions League trophies, four Spanish and three European Super Cups. With Madrid, he won the World Club Championship three times.
"A player who is a part of our club's history and one of the greatest legends of world football is retiring," said Real.
In the Bayern jersey, Kroos won the Bundesliga and the German Cup three times, and he also has one trophy in the Champions League.
He was world champion with the German national team in 2014.
The European Championship is scheduled from June 14 to July 14 in Germany. The domestic selection is in group A with Scotland, Hungary and Switzerland.
