The first champion of Montenegro, and almost returning to the Second League, will now be in the hands of the local authorities... The Municipality of Zeta announced that it is taking over the Zeta Football Club.
As they add, the agreement was reached at a meeting in the office of the president of the Zeta municipality Mihailo Asanović, which was attended by member of the Parliament of Montenegro and leader of the Democratic People's Party Milan Knežević, former president of FK Zeta Radojica Rajo Božović and the club's sports director Bojan Božović.
"This kind of initiative gains even more strength due to the fact that we will have two very clear goals after the takeover, which is an express return to the First League and an appearance on the international stage," they emphasized from the Municipality of Zeta.
They plan for Zeta to continuously participate in the second-highest UEFA competition...
"With a serious approach, commitment and investment in our promising footballers, together with sponsors and friends of the club, we will try to bring Zeta to the top of Montenegrin football, where it belongs, but also strive for our football club to be a permanent participant in the Europa League", they say in announcement.
They also say that they will never again allow the club to experience the fate and difficult situation it had in previous seasons.
"By entering a higher rank, we are sending a message that we have risen like a phoenix from the ashes and that we are returning Zeta to the paths of its old glory," concludes the Municipality of Zeta.
