If they want to crown the point they earned on Friday in Heraklion against Greece, the women's football team of Montenegro must justify their role as favorites in Andorra.
Mirko Marić's women are waiting for the duel of the fourth round of the C3 group of European Championship qualifiers, and in the first three they won seven points - they defeated tonight's opponent under Gorica (6:1), then the Faroe Islands 5:1, before the draw with the Greek women - 2:2 .
- Matches won in advance are the most difficult. We are not so strong that we would enter the game lightly against any opponent, not even Andorra. And that first match under Gorica showed what can happen if we are not at our best from the first minute. We were leading then 2:0, and then conceded a goal and complicated everything. Fortunately, we showed a different face in the sequel and achieved a convincing victory - said Marić.
The duel with Andorra starts at 19:XNUMX.
- Our goal is to impose ourselves from the beginning. An early goal would open the way to victory, but patience is also important. We expect a defensive Andorra, and it is not easy to break through the defense, which often has 10 players. That's why it's important not to get nervous if we don't take some chances. There will certainly be them, it's just important that we preserve peace - Marić pointed out.
After tonight's game, our selection will have more matches with the Faroe Islands away and Greece at home on July 12 and 16, respectively.
Placement in the play-off for the Euro will be won by the first-placed teams from each group, as well as the three best second-placed national teams.
