Dejan Savićević and Dragan Stojković - a little more than 24 years ago, together won a trip to the European Championship, and after that - neither the former country, nor Serbia - were not part of the Euros until this summer.
It was Stojković as a selector who managed to lead the "eagles" to the continental championship, and his former teammate, now the president of the Football Association of Montenegro, believes that he will have a tough job waiting for him in Germany...
"I spoke with Pixie. Honestly, his situation is not very good," Savićević told "Sportal.rs".
Stojković also led Serbia at the previous World Cup, when that selection failed to pass the group stage in the company of Brazil, Cameroon and Switzerland.
"What was the euphoria before the World Cup - where I knew it was a difficult group, the schedule was bad, and now the schedule is bad," Savićević believes.
Serbia will play against England, Slovenia and Denmark at the Euro.
"At the start, they play against the English national team, which may not be the strongest in terms of individual qualities - they don't have a distinct individual like Kylian Mbappe. True, there is Jude Bellingham, who plays in Real Madrid, but they also have players who play in the top league. And then it can be a situation happens where they are worn out again like against Brazil in Qatar, so the question is how much they will be able to improve during the other two games," stressed the president of FSCG.
The Euro 2024 spectacle starts on Friday with the match between Germany and Scotland, while Serbia and England meet on Sunday in Gelsenkirchen.
