Dečić football players are preparing for the first round of Champions League qualification at Zlatibor, where they will be until July 2. Seven days later, they visit the Welsh champions, TNS, and the second leg is in Podgorica on July 16.
The coach of the champions of Montenegro, Milorad Peković, is more than satisfied with the preparations for the big challenge. Tuzani have been preparing in the Serbian mountain center since June 20.
- The fields and conditions are excellent, the only thing that disturbs us is the playing of matches. He interrupted our first test against OFK Belgrade, and the storm threatens to postpone the duel with Spartak as well. But we will have strong tests here, with Vojvodina on June 29, and on the last day with Radnički from Kragujevac - reports Peković.
Coach Dečić assembled the team after two weeks of rest. The skeleton of the championship team was retained, with the departure of the important offensive player Oliver Šarkić to Budućnost.
Peković himself got a few days off, because yesterday he became the father of Matija's son.
- The most joyful event and that is why I am currently in Belgrade. The team in Zlatibor is doing everything that was planned, we are complete with the players and reinforcements that I wanted.
We have no problems with injuries, health and we believe in going through against the Welsh. We are optimistic, and I always believe in victory, I believe that we will be right - Peković pointed out.
Winger Alen Mašović from Tuzla, who grew up in Partizan, is the only reinforcement of Dečić outside Montenegrin clubs. Vuk Striković arrived from Sutjeska, Kueljo from Arsenal, Luka Malešević from Petrovac, and midfielder Petar Sekulović from Budućnosti.
In addition, Tuzani extended contracts with a large number of footballers, so apart from the departure of Šarkić, it can be said that they more or less saved the team. Newcomers will show whether they have strengthened it...
In any case, even though Dečić did well in the draw, because the Welsh league, just like the Montenegrin one, is at the very bottom of the European football league, Peković's chosen ones do not expect an easy task, on the contrary.
TNS plays the Champions League qualifiers every year, and in the past, it knew how to make big surprises - for example, to eliminate Pilsen from the Czech Republic, Žilina from Slovakia.
- The Welsh have progressed as a club, we already have information, and analyzes of their game, match previews are in progress. They play in an island style with a lot of strong duels and throw-ins, on long balls.
We could have done better in the draw, but it is a fortunate circumstance that we avoided Slovan from Bratislava, who was the toughest rival in our subgroup - Peković concluded.
Apart from TNS and Slovan, Dečić was able to meet with Borec from Banja Luka, Lincoln from Gibraltar and Balkani from Kosovo.
