With a post on Instagram, Stevan Jovetić said goodbye to Olympiakos, the club where he spent the previous season and with which he won the UEFA Conference League, with nice and well-chosen words.
Parting couldn't have been nicer..
"It's never easy to say goodbye, but it's a lot easier when you write history before you say it. It's been an amazing journey. I want to thank everyone for this success. To President Marinakis, Antonio Cordon, Jose Ignacio and Diego Martinez, the people who brought me to Olympiakos. Then to my teammates - my lions, only we know what happened in the dressing room, what we went through to win this trophy," said Jovetić.
"Thanks also to coach Jose Luis Mendilibar and his coaching staff, fitness trainers, medical team, nutritionists, chef, finance! Special thanks to our 12th player throughout the season, our amazing fans. I've played in many stadiums, but the atmosphere you guys create is unique!" wrote the Montenegrin ace.
In one season in the jersey of the Piraeus club, Jovetić played 30 games in all competitions, scoring eight goals.
What will be his next club?
With the goal he scored for Hertha two seasons ago, Jovetić became the first player to hit the net in all five of the strongest European leagues - Italy (Fiorentina, Inter), England (Manchester City), Spain (Seville), France (Monaco) and Germany ( Hertha).
At the age of 34, he won his first major European trophy, in the Olympiakos jersey, but his football journey continues - he is still eager for challenges.
A new club is waiting.
