Now it's official - Buducnost will not play the rematch of the 2nd round of qualification for the Conference League against CSKA 1948 at the stadium near Gorica, but will look for a chance for new European success at the "DG Arena", in the Podgorica neighborhood of Donja Gorica.
This was confirmed by FK Budućnost in a statement sent to the media.
"With great regret, we inform the sports public, all fans, supporters of the club and football fans in Montenegro that the stadium under Gorica has been suspended by UEFA and that the return match of the 2nd round of qualification for the Conference League against CSKA 1948 will be played at the DG Arena" , it was announced from the Podgorica fidball club.
The match will be played at the same time that was set earlier - on Thursday at 21 p.m.
Uefa decided to suspend the stadium under Gorica, because the field of our biggest stadium is in a catastrophic condition.
From the European house of football, they assessed that the field is not safe for the health of the players, so even though Budućnost tried diplomatically to win CSKA 1948 at the stadium that should be the home of this club, Uefa did not change its decision.
"Our club did everything in our power (contacted and begged UUEFA, as well as the Football Association of Montenegro, spoke with delegates...) that the match be played under Gorica, both because of the moment we are in and the great interest, and an active result and the possibility of passing to the next round, as well as due to the fact that the match with CSKA 1948 is of a humanitarian nature and all the money from the tickets is intended for the treatment of our friend Feđa Alković", pointed out from Budućnost.
However...
"Due to the desperate condition of the stadium's surface under Gorica, UEFA as an elite institution decided that it is impossible to play on such a field and that the image from Podgorica would be below any possible level," they added in the statement.
Budućnost emphasized that they have nothing to do with the maintenance of the stadium and the field.
"Since this work is solely the responsibility of the company Sportski objekti DOO, which manages the stadium and which rents the pitch to our club according to the official cost list for all domestic and European matches and training sessions, it is as if we are playing away from home, not at our 'own' stadium", they conclude. from the Future-
A new slap for our football and the people who are responsible for the fact that the field under Gorica this summer looks more like a "ploughland" than a football field.
