Newcastle United football club confirmed today that their footballer Sanro Tonali (24) will be available to the club again from August 28, after the ten-month suspension due to illegal betting.
Newcastle stated on its website that it received confirmation from the Italian Football Association, where Tonali comes from, that the suspension will expire on August 27.
The English club bought Tonali from Milan in July 2023 for around 70 million euros, but already in October he received a 10-month ban from playing football, as well as an obligation to go to rehab from betting for eight months.
Before the suspension, Tonali managed to make 13 appearances for Newcastle and score one goal.
The Italian footballer will miss the first two rounds of the new Premier League season against Southampton and Bormouth, but he could play exactly on August 28, in the EFL Cup against Nottingham Forest, as well as three days later in the league game with Tottenham.
