The representatives of Chelsea footballer Raheem Sterling asked to clarify the situation regarding his future at the club, since he was left out of the team for today's game against Manchester City in the Premier League.
The statement said Sterling has a "good working relationship" with new Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca, but was expected to be in the squad today.
Chelsea spent 11 million pounds on bringing in 185 players this summer, so Maresca has more than 40 players at his disposal.
"He returned to England two weeks ago to train on his own and has had a positive preparation with the new manager. He is committed as always to providing the highest level for Chelsea and the fans, who he greatly appreciates, and given that he has been included in the materials this week for the game, we expected Rahim to be involved in some capacity," the statement said, reported the BBC.
The representatives of the 29-year-old footballer added that they always had a positive dialogue with the club and assurances about Sterling's future at the club.
"That's why we look forward to clarifying the situation. Until then, we will continue to support Rahim's desire to start the season in a positive way," the statement added.
Before the game, Mareska told Skaj that as a coach he has to make certain decisions and that it is normal that sometimes the players do not like such decisions.
"Just a technical decision, nothing more," Mareska added.
In July 2022, Sterling moved from Manchester City to Chelsea, for which he played 81 games and scored 19 goals.
