The football club Rajo Vallecano announced today that it has hired the Colombian James Rodríguez.
Rodrigues terminated his contract with Sao Paolo and moved to Rajo as a free agent, and reportedly had offers from clubs from Saudi Arabia and the USA.
He thus returns to Spanish football, where he played for Real Madrid from 2014 to 2020.
"I'm happy to come to a historic club like Rajo, I really want to show myself well. I feel responsible wherever I play. I like to win," said 33-year-old Rodriguez.
He was a Copa America finalist with Colombia this summer, where he had six assists and was named the tournament's most valuable player.
During his career, among other clubs, he played for Porto, Monaco, Everton, Olympiakos and on loan at Bayern Munich. Rajo is currently eighth in the table with a win and a draw in the first two rounds of Primera.
