Teams of only seven Montenegrin footballers qualified for the group stage of three UEFA club competitions.
Only seven - because as of this season, as many as 108 clubs are participating in the expanded format of the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League.
In the most elite European competition, Montenegro has its youngest member of the A national team - Vasilij Adzić, who due to injury has not yet made his debut for Juventus in official matches, but based on the impression he left during the preparations and the words of coach Tijag Mota, he probably won't have to wait long for that day .
In the Europa League, Marko Vešović and Marko Janković will try to repeat the great editions of last season with Qarabag.
Adam Marušić with Lazio and Risto Radunović with FCSB will also play in the second strongest European competition this season. Sead Hakšabanović will also play in the Europa League with Malmo. The winger has not worn the Montenegrin jersey for two years and the question is when (and if) it will happen again.
In the Conference League, Montenegro has only one representative, Marko Vukčević, who wears the Banja Luka Borc jersey.
