Oliver Šarkić recently became a footballer of Budućnost, thus continuing the family tradition - his grandfather Alija Aljo Šarkić was a footballer and director of the "Blues", and his father Bojan was the president of the club in the period from 2013 to 2015.
Now is the time for Oliver to show what he was brought in for and what he showed in Dečić - that he can make a difference on Montenegrin pitches.
The future lies in the preparations at Zlatibor, after which Šarkić himself expects to be the protagonist.
"From the first day, everyone at the club accepted me in the best possible way. I am very satisfied with the team. We have a great group in the dressing room, and this is confirmed during the preparations in Zlatibor, despite the fact that we are not complete," said the 27-year-old offensive player, who does not hides love for the Future:
"I always knew only about Buducnost, big matches were always watched at home, even some smaller ones when there was a broadcast, they cheered for Buducnost... And the first time at the stadium will remain etched in my memory for the rest of my life: we played against Hajduk under Gorica, I was nine years old. You can only imagine the experience for a nine-year-old child to find himself in that great atmosphere. It was a special experience when Marko Šćepanović scored a goal for 1:1, it was a little masterpiece, you remember - for sure," says Šarkić.
"Five or six years later, I trained several times with the cadets when we came to Podgorica on vacation. At home, we have jerseys that are over 20 years old, so the choice was easy when Budućnost invited me to join them."
Oliver struggled with injuries this summer, and behind him is a difficult period, because in June his brother Matija from Bilza, national team goalkeeper, died.
"Because of everything that happened, I decided not to rush to return. Now I am ready and healthy, I want to show myself to the fans and the public in the right light. I have motivation, and my next biggest wish is to finally return to our stadium, because one knows where the home of the Future is".
In Budućnost, he wears the number 13 jersey.
"Matija wore number 13 in the last match against Belgium, that's why it was my choice. That number has the greatest meaning for me. Life will never be the same as before, but I can use this pain as motivation, because I know that my brother the twin watches from above and I do everything with him in my mind," Šarkić said emotionally.
Fans expect goals and assists from Šarkić.
"I like goals and assists, to play forward and create dangerous situations. You can expect that from me, I will try to be better day by day, but above all I will be subordinate to the team," Šarkić said.
