The first match in the history that the national team of Montenegro will play in Nikšića will be led by four Bulgarian referees.
Uefa has decided that the match between the Falcons and Wales in the 2nd round of the League of Nations will be refereed by Georgi Kabakov.
The referee from Plovdiv will be assisted by compatriots Martin Margaritov and Dijan Valkov, while the fourth referee will be Nikola Popov.
Kabakov will thus return to our country after nine years, since at the beginning of his international career he led the match of the second round of qualification for the Champions League between Rudar and Karabagh in Petrovac (0:1).
In the meantime, the Bulgarian referee gained more and more trust from UEFA, he also refereed Champions League matches, such as Real Madrid - Club Brugge or Valencia - Manchester United, while last season he angered Jurgen Klopp.
In the Europa League match, Liverpool equalized against Toulouse with a goal by Jarel Kwansa in stoppage time, Kabakov pointed to the center and that the video check was over, but soon a call came from the VAR room.
After watching the video, Kabakov saw Alexis McAllister's handball before the goal, so he decided to cancel the goal.
"The ball hit him in the chest and I don't see contact with the hand, to be honest. Maybe the referees had a different picture," commented Klopp nervously at the time.
The match Montenegro - Wales will be played on Monday at 20.45:XNUMX.
