Milija Savović went through everything with Sutjeska - in just over a year with the club from Nikšić, he was the champion of Montenegro, and then after the first major crisis, he had to leave the stadium near Bistrica.
It seemed that the story was put to an end at the time, but the 45-year-old coach is returning to the club with which he dominantly reached the championship crown in the 2021/22 season.
"Why did I come back? The answer is simple - I am connected to Sutjeska, it is the club where I achieved the greatest success, and as soon as the leading people expressed their desire for me to return, we easily agreed," explained Savović.
Just like before the first term, he arrived on the bench instead of Miljan Radović - then after the former Sutjeska footballer's contract expired, and now after Nikšić's bad results at the start of the new season. Savović has to change something quickly...
"Of course, the situation in the table does not correspond to the wishes of a club like Sutjeska, and I will do my best to improve the results with hard work and return Sutjeska to the fight for the top of the table," pointed out Savović.
After six rounds in the domestic championship, Sutjeska has only one victory - from the current point of view, how realistic is it to rethink the title?
"Goals must always be the biggest. Considering that I'm starting now when the season has already started and without the possibility of selection, the task is to raise these guys, to restore their confidence, because I'm sure they know that they play good football", the former coach of Jezer, Libyan Al-Ittihad, has no doubts. Arsenal...
He will make his new debut on the Sutjeska bench next weekend - away against Otrant Olimpik.
"The least we can do in the coming period is to show fighting will and desire".
These days, Savović is not the only new name near Bistrica.
"What we could have done was a "joker" player, and luckily we managed to strengthen ourselves with the experienced Ilija Martinović, who once made national team appearances - I believe that he will be a significant support for this young team," concluded Savović.
