Buducnost has prepared a cake with 100 candles for next year, and the great jubilee and the first century of existence of the Podgorica club will be embellished by boys from his school...
For the first time in history, Buducnost will play in the UEFA Youth Champions League (up to 19 years old), and its first obstacle in the qualifiers will be Dinamo Tbilisi. In total, it will be only the third time that Montenegro has a representative in the elite after Titograd (2016) and Sutjeska (2017).
"Just participating, and for the first time in the rich history of our club, in such an elite competition as the Champions League is a great thing and a success. It is a privilege to be in the competition of champions, among which are the best youth schools in Europe," said the director of the Omladinska School of the Future Srđan Radonjić.
Željko Ćetković led the Podgorica youth club to the championship crown last season, while Marko Janjević replaced him this summer.
"Dinamo from Tbilisi is certainly an opponent that we have to respect, and one of the reasons is that they have an extremely high-quality Youth School. We saw that this summer, when five or six youths were in the first team of Dinamo in the qualification for the League of Conferences against Sailors", he emphasized is Janjević.
The first match against the champion of Georgia is scheduled for next Wednesday in Tbilisi, while the second leg will be played in Podgorica on October 2.
The good news is that there are many young men who are already part of the first team of Budućnosti who have the right to play in the Youth Champions League, such as the super-talented Andrija Bulatović.
"Our chance against Dinamo is certainly not small, because I think we have a talented and high-quality team that has experience - both because of playing with the first team, and because of the Montenegrin national team and participation in various qualifications and tournaments," said Janjević.
In addition to Bulatović, the Budućnosti youth team could be strengthened in the fight for the elite by other talents who already have experience in senior football - Bodin Tomašević, Zarija Kumburović, Zarija Mugoša, Lazar Savović, Danilo Vukanić, Stefan Đukanović, Lazar Brajović, Dragutin Saranović, Matija Jovanović. , Andrej Camaj, Andrej Kostić...
Some of them are also members of the youth national team of Montenegro, led by Goran Perišić, which recently defeated Serbia and put up strong resistance against Portugal...
"We know that we also have talented boys and we believe that we can jump over the first hurdle," said Radonjić at the end.
If they pass the first hurdle, the players of Budućnosti will play against Trabzon in the next round, while in the third round of qualification they would meet with the better team from Maccabi Petah Tikva - Sarajevo/AP Brera.
