And in case Roma does not qualify for the Champions League, the coach, Daniele de Rossi, could lose his job. At least that's what the legend of the "wolf" Franćesko Toti thinks.
"Considering the crazy investments this summer, they have to qualify for the Champions League. If you invest 100 million euros and don't go to the Champions League, it's a complete failure. "If they don't fight for the Champions League, De Rossi will leave early, he won't push to the end," Totti said.
The former captain of the "wolf" had something to say to De Rossi.
"First of all, Danijele has to make them respect him. He must talk to the professional staff and close people, those who can help him and make him understand his mistakes. "Danijele has a strong group of players and I hope that he will succeed, because he knows the environment well," said Toti.
Totti points out that De Rossi could end up like Jose Mourinho.
"Of course, despite the fact that he is the only one who can currently be Roma's coach. We go back to the same thing - if a strong club is clear about its goals, everything is fine, because the fans know everything. However, if things don't go well, all the blame will be on Danijela. This is exactly what happened to Mourinho. He stood in front of the project, but no one helped him or talked to him. If you don't bring results, you become a scapegoat," concluded Toti.
In the next round of Serie A, Roma will host Genoa on Sunday (12:30 p.m.).
