Real Madrid officially announced that Ukrainian goalkeeper Andrey Lunyin signed a new contract with the "royal club" until June 30, 2030.
In 2018, as a 19-year-old, Lunjin moved to Real Madrid, he joined the first team in 2020. With the club, he won 10 trophies - two Champions Leagues, two La Ligas, two Supercups of Europe and Spain each, as well as the King's Cup and the World Club Championship.
Due to his saves during the previous season, Lunjin was also nominated by UEFA for the Lav Jashin trophy, which will be awarded to the best goalkeeper in the season.
Lunjin has not defended since the start of the season, more precisely since the Champions League final, when Carlo Ancelotti opted for the experienced Belgian Thibs Courtois at Wembley.
However, in the last season Lunjin was the first goalkeeper due to an injury to Courtois, with spectacular defenses and records he led the team to the final of the Champions League. He was especially inspiring in the matches with Leipzig and Manchester City, which he took down from the European throne.
He had a contract with Real for this season, insider information was that he would get a new one until the summer of 2028, but president Florentino Peres decided that the Ukrainian deserved more.
