Ten games, ten wins and only four goals conceded - the city of the great Sir Alex Ferguson has not seen a better start from Aberdeen for a long time.
After five rounds of the Scottish Premiership, the "Dons" are at the top together with the great Celtic, while they reached the quarter-finals in the League Cup... If you ask the coach of the club from "Pitodrij" Jimi Telin, Slobodan Rubežić is the most responsible for that.
"He is a top professional," said the Swedish expert, quoted by "Daily Record".
The Montenegrin stopper started his second season in Aberdeen, and started with good games from the first moment he put on the red jersey. According to the Scottish media, the club rejected several offers for him during the summer, which from this point of view is not surprising when you see the numbers of the defense commanded by Rubežić.
"Rubežić is constantly working on every aspect to raise his game to a new level - this is best shown by his behavior before, during and after training, as well as how he uses his time in the gym, how he takes care of himself, how he eats," he praised is his stopper Telin.
"Daily Record" reminds us that our footballer's desire to win the ball first was also visible last season, but that the opponents occasionally managed to "catch" him out of position, which cost Aberdeen. It is precisely in this segment that you can see how much Rubežić has progressed this season.
"He seems to have greatly reduced those certain rookie mistakes and is now flourishing under Telin's leadership," the aforementioned medium wrote.
All this was praised by the head of the Aberdeen profession.
"Everything I've seen so far - he's done very well. He looks very solid and behaves properly on the field," added Telin.
Rubežić is irreplaceable at Telin, so out of the mentioned 10 matches, he played all 90 minutes in eight, while the Swedish expert only rested him for two League Cup matches.
In October, it will be a year since Rubežić made his debut for Montenegro, and it seems that the "falcons" with Stefan Savić and him got an ideal tandem in the stopper positions.
